Loving Comitted Network (LCN) was established in June of 1984 by a comittee of women who were unhappy that Gay Pride Week plans did not include enough events of interest for women. Men were not permitted at most LCN events. This issue was fuel for political controversy and animosity between LCN and Gay Communitity Services (GCS) and the Center which was run mostly by gay men.
